Themada holds water
Themada holds water
from $110.00
Themada (kangaroo grass) is one of the major grasses found in SE Australia. Pre- colonisation it was cultivated through ecological land management practices by First Nation peoples through cultural burning. This form of ‘caring for country’ meant the soil was inoculated with carbon from the removal of biomass, as well as the cultivation of these tussock grasses, who in turn, cultivated a soil that could hold water through established root systems and a healthy soil community.
