A particle full of minerals, becomes absorbed and inhabited by millions of microbes, who themselves are unlocking precious minerals into their bodies and proliferating, this describes soil carbon growing. More microbes, means more protozoa, which means more springtails, which means more slaters etc…. all these lifeforms are carbon, and they all are part of breaking down organic matter, like decaying leaves, and they all die and defacate… furthering the soil carbon content.
